Springfield, Mass. – March 27, 2010 – The Springfield College men’s tennis team dropped it’s conference opener to rival Wheaton College, 7-2, on Saturday afternoon in a New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) contest.
In the match for the Pride, Trevor Romanzi and Tim Tunis won at No. 1 doubles by a score of 8-6. In singles competition, Zach O’Leary was the only member of the Pride to record a victory as he edged of a victory 7-5, 6-7 (10-8), 13-11.
Springfield will next play Rhode Island College on Tuesday afternoon in a non-conference match.
