Hartford, Conn. — September 15, 2011 — The Springfield College men’s tennis team opened its 2011-2012 season with a 7-0 loss to the University of Hartford on the Hartford courts earlier today.

The Hawks swept the doubles, with the No. 3 team of Zac Goldstein and Joe Giannelli doing best for the Pride.

In singles play, Zach O’Leary stretched the match to a third-set super tiebreaker before falling to Josh Isaacson, 6-2, 6-7, 10-5.

Springfield is now 0-1, while Hartford becomes 1-0.
