Cambridge, Mass. – April 6, 2013 – The Springfield College men’s volleyball wrapped up the MIT Scramble with three-game sweeps of Elmira and Regis on Saturday afternoon. The Pride took down Elmira 25-17, 25-16, 25-22, before breezing by Regis, 25-8, 25-8, 25-10.
Springfield, winners of 22-straight matches, now stands at 28-3.
Greg Falcone was named the Most Outstanding Player of the weekend, while classmate Mike Pelletier earned All-Tournament team honors.
In the win over Elmira, Pelletier produced eight kills, and both John Coen and Falcone notched seven kills.
Keaton Pieper handed out 20 assists in the win against Regis, which featured a spread out Springfield attack. Alistair Matthews was credited with six kills and seven digs, while Greg Woods notched four kills.
Springfield will play again next Saturday when it wraps up the regular season with an in-region clash with MIT.
