Beverly, Mass. – April 8, 2013 – Playing for the first time since its’ Spring Break trip in Puerto Rico, the Springfield College women’s tennis team was defeated by Endicott, 8-1, at the South Campus Courts.
The Pride’s lone point came at No. 1 singles by Sam Carney. The senior took the opening set, 6-3, before earning the victory after her opponent retired. Springfield’s Melanie Thulin put forth a great effort at No. 3 singles, before bowing out, 7-6 (7-2), 6-3.
Springfield (6-9) next visits Rhode Island College on Thursday, April 11th for a 4:00 pm match in Providence, Rhode Island.
