Cambridge, Mass. – September 15, 2013 – The Springfield College women’s tennis team fell to MIT by a 9-0 count in New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) play on Sunday afternoon.
Kelsey Whelpley (Mastic Beach, N.Y.) was the lone member of the Pride to win a game as she suffered a 6-1, 6-2 setback at No. 6 singles.
In doubles play, Rachel London (Port Jefferson, N.Y.) and Stephanie Foster (Woodbridge, Conn.) were defeated at No. 2, 8-3.
Next Thursday, Springfield will return to non-league play to take on cross-town foe Western New England.
