Springfield, Mass.- September 6, 2014- The Springfield College women's tennis team fell to Babson College 9-0 on Saturday afternoon in their New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) season opener.

Junior Melanie Thulin (Manchester Center, Vt.) and sophomore Stephani Post (Westford, Mass.) had a strong showing in the No. 2 doubles slot, falling 4-8, while Rachel Litchfield (Northbridge, Mass. ) dropped a 6-2, 6-1 decision at No. 5 singles.

Springfield will take on Nichols on the road this Thursday at 4:00 pm.
