Springfield, Mass. - April 18, 2015 - The Springfield College men's tennis team was defeated in its New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) finale on Saturday afternoon by a 9-0 decision to visiting Babson College.
The loss drops Springfield to 5-9, 1-5 in league play.
Kyle Beynor (Prospect, Conn.) had a strong showing at No. 4 singles for Springfield as he was defeated 6-1, 7-5, while Chris Unger (Westfield, Mass.) battled tough at No. 6 singles in a 6-3, 7-5 loss.
In doubles action, the duo of Cameron Grant (Babylon, N.Y.) and Nate Weissman (Longmeadow, Mass.) fell just short in an 8-5 setback at No. 3.
The Pride will close out its season on Monday when it hosts Rhode Island College on Appleton Courts at 4:00 p.m.
