West Point, N.Y. - January 16, 2016 - Jon Zirna (East Amherst, N.Y.) re-established his school record on the parallel bars to highlight the individual finals at the West Point Open on Saturday evening for the Springfield College men's gymnastics team.

Zirna finished third in the event with a score of 14.800, besting his previous record of 14.65 that he set in 2015. His best individual finish of the night however came on the pommel horse, where his score of 14.600 was good enough for runner up in the event.

On the high bar, Tucker McClure (San Jose, Calif.) totaled a 14.000 to finish fourth and Derek Taranto (Westborough, Mass.) took sixth with a 13.600, while Chris Graff (Old Bridge, N.J.) had a strong performance pn the rings, totaling a 13.800 en route to taking fifth.

The Pride will compete again on Saturday, January 30 when it heads to Annapolis, Md. for the Navy Open.
