Williamsburg, Va. - April 2, 2016 - Posting 406.300 points, the Springfield College men's gymnastics program registered a fourth-place finish at the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division I Men's Gymnastics Championships, hosted by William and Mary on Saturday afternoon.

Both finishing the meet with 423.400 points, the United States Military Academy and United States Naval Academy shared the team championship, which marks the first time there have been co-champions since Temple University and East Stroudsburg University shared first place in 1985.

William & Mary finished in third place with 416.850, while Springfield College totaled 406.300 to place fourth. Temple University posted a team mark of 403.450 for a fifth-place finish, while the University of Illinois at Chicago rounded out the field with a score of 387.800.

The top 10 finishers in each individual event on Saturday advanced to Sunday's individual event finals, which will commence at 1:00 p,m.

Leading the Pride, senior Jon Zirna (East Amherst, N.Y.) finished fifth overall in the all-around competition, posting a score of 81.800 to earn All-ECAC honors, as he qualified for the individual championships in the pommel horse, in which he placed fifth with a score of 14.200 and on parallel bars, in which he placed in a tie for third with a score of 14.100.

Additionally, three other Springfield College student-athletes qualified for the Individual Championships, including Tucker McClure (San Jose, Calif.), who qualified in two events, including the vault with a score of 14.400 and the floor exercise with a mark of 14.100. Joshua Dieker (Oviedo, Fla.) also recorded a 10th place finish on the rings with a score of 13.750 to qualify, while freshman Jannik Haas (San Jose, Calif.) posted a score of 13.550 in the parallel bars to advance to Sunday.
