Box Score Worcester, Mass. - October 21, 2017 - The Springfield College men's soccer program and WPI fought to a scoreless tie in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) play on Saturday evening at Alumni Field.
Springfield College, which was ranked No. 12 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Division III National Rankings, and No. 14 in the d3soccer.come National Rankings, is still unbeaten through 14 games and is now 13-0-1, and 5-0-1 against conference opponents. WPI also picks up their first draw of the season and is now 10-4-1 overall with a 5-0-1 record in NEWMAC play.
In net for the Pride, junior goalkeeper Stewart Frank (Pittsford, N.Y.) made four stops, while his counterpart, Connor Hoeckele (Granby, Conn.) made six stops for the Engineers. The Pride held a 14-7 shot advantage over 90 minutes of play, while Springfield College was also awarded three corner kicks to the Engineers' two.
