Springfield, Mass. - March 30, 2018 - The Springfield College men's tennis was bested by local-foe Trinity College on Friday afternoon by a 7-2 decision.
Springfield had its three-match winning streak snapped and falls to 5-4 on the season.
The Bantams won all three of the doubles points, with the Pride's top team of Court Honda (Morioka, Japan) and Alex Romaine (Stamford, Conn.) producing the best result with a 8-3 setback. In singles play, Honda cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 victory at the No. 2 spot, while Romaine grinded out a 4-6, 6-0, 10-6 win while playing at No. 1. Competing at No. 4 singles, Zack Keene (Agawam, Mass.) also had a strong showing before falling by a 6-2, 6-4 score.
The Pride will open up New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) play on Wednesday when it hosts Coast Guard for a 3:30 showdown.
