Babson Park, Mass. - March 31, 2018 - The Springfield College women's tennis team was defeated by Babson College, 9-0, in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) meeting on Saturday afternoon.

Babson, which is ranked 17th in the region in the latest ITA Regional Rankings, improved to 6-1, while the Pride's four-match winning streak was snapped as it drops to 6-3 on the season.

In doubles play, the Pride's best showing came from the No. 3 team of Rachel Litchfield (Northridge, Mass.) and Rachel Ahlmeyer (Morris Plains, N.J.), who were bested, 8-3.

Melissa Parrish (Framingham, Mass.) was edged at No. 5 singles by a 6-3, 7-5 score, while Addie Kendall (Lakeville, Mass.) was toppled at No. 4 singles, 6-3, 6-4.

Springfield will continue conference play next Saturday when it travels to face Wheaton at 10:30 am.
