Wheaton Blanks Women's Tennis, 9-0, in NEWMAC Play

Norton, Mass. - April 7, 2018 - The Springfield College women's tennis team fell to Wheaton, 9-0, in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) play on Saturday afternoon in the Beard Field House. With the loss, the Pride is now 6-4 overall with a 1-2 mark in league play, while Wheaton is now 5-4 on the year with a 1-1 record against NEWMAC opponents.

Junior Melissa Parrish (Framingham, Mass.) and Addie Kendall (Lakeville, Mass.) played a close match at No. 2 doubles, but fell to Jodi Katz (Needham, Mass.) and Connor O'Keefe (Lutz, Fla.), 8-5, as the Pride trailed 3-0 after doubles.

Wheaton would close out the match with six wins during singles play, as Parrish made things interesting at the No. 4 singles spot, but fell to O'Keefe, 6-1, 7-5. 

Springfield College will now prepare for a match against Mount Holyoke on Tuesday, April 10 on the Appleton Courts at 4 p.m.
