Box Score

Springfield, Mass. - March 4, 2023 - The Springfield College men's volleyball team handled Endicott in straight sets on Saturday afternoon by the scores of 25-16, 25-18, 25-15.

Ranked fifth in the most recent AVCA Division III National Coaches Poll, Springfield is now 17-2 on the year, while the Gulls dip to 2-6.

Jarrett Anderson (Largo, Fla.) continued to impress on the right side as he totaled a match-best 12 kills at a .526 hitting percentage to go along with seven aces, four blocks, and four digs, while Chris Rouleau (Bay Shore, N.Y.) turned in five kills and four blocks out of the middle.  Dylan Mulvaney (Reston, Va.) paced the Pride to a .355 hitting percentage with 26 assists and four blocks and Noah Weislo (Orchard Park, N.Y.) prouduced a match-high nine digs.

Endicott called for a timeout trailing 9-5 in the first after Anderson scored down the line in transition and the Pride would push it's lead to 15-10 when Rouleau converted out of the middle.  The visitors would pull within 18-16 as Springfield called for a timeout, only to have Anderson take over down the stretch.  The senior sided out with a kill and then added two more kills and a pair of aces as Springfield closed out the set on a 7-0 surge.

The Gulls would gain a 7-4 lead in the second following an ace, but the Pride would respond with a 7-1 push, as Joel DeCamp (Simi Valley, Calif.) put away an overpass to force the visitors into a timeout trailing 11-8.  Endicott would battle back to 18-17 on another ace, but Anderson and Evan Costley (Simi Valley, Calif.) would terminate kills coming out of a Springfield timeout as the hosts would pull away with a 25-18 win as it hit .375 in the frame.

Springfield would again trail 7-4 early in the third, but blew open the game with a 12-1 push thanks to the serving efforts of Anderson, as he went on a nine-point scoring run from the endline which featured a trio of aces.  Seven different student-athletes recorded at least one kill in the set, and the 25-15 triumph was completed when Rouleau and Anderson sealed for a block on the pin, as Springfield held Endicott to a -.087 hitting percentage in the stanza.

On Thursday, Springfield will travel to take on New Paltz at 6 pm.
