Springfield, Mass. - December 13, 2024 - In recognition of his tremendous showing last weekend, Springfield College's
Myles Leonard (Waldwick, N.J.) was honored as the New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) Wrestler of the Week.
Last Saturday, Leonard helped power Springfield to its first Messiah Petrfoes Invitational since 2004 as he scored 30 points for the Pride. The No. 3 seed pinned his way through the tournament with wins over Tim Eddinger (Messiah) in 1:01,
Collin Keller (St. Vincent) in just :33, Hayden McLellan (Alvernia) in 4:32, #8 Blake Williams (Adrian) in 2:24, and Eli Crum (Lycoming) in 1:23 to claim the title. He also earned most pins in least amount of time with five pins.
On Friday night, Springfield will travel to Rhode Island to take on Roger Williams at 6Â pm.Â
