Cedar Rapids, Iowa – March 14, 2026 – Springfield College's
Jacob Deguire (Schenectady, N.Y.) capped off an impressive career with his third All-America honor after finishing in fourth place at 174 pounds at the 2026 NCAA Division III Wrestling National Championships on Saturday afternoon.
Over his career, Deguire finished third at 157 pounds in 2023, six at 165 pounds in 2025 and fourth at 174 pounds in 2026 becoming the first three-time All-American for the Pride since Athletic Hall of Famer Mike Gaeta '07. In fact, Deguire, Gaeta and Keith Poloskey '02 are the only three in program history to earn three or more All-America honors at the Division III championships.
Since the 1934 season for Springfield has competed at Division I, II and III levels and has only had four student-athletes produce three or more All-America accolades as Deguire and Gaeta are joined by Jeff Blatnick '79 (5) and Rich Monroe '76 (4).
This afternoon Deguire was tasked with winning three matches to make his way back to third place on the podium. He started his afternoon with a pin early in the second period against seventh-seeded Thomas West of Baldwin Wallace before pushing through second-seeded Noah Leisgang via medical forfeit.
In the third place match, Deguire faced a familiar opponent in Dustin Bohren as the two competed against each other at last year's NCAA Championships. A season ago, Deguire defeated Bohren, but this year Bohren topped Deguire, 12-1, by major decision to claim the third place title.
