Boston, Mass. – February 25, 2024 – Highlighted by a record breaking performance in the 200-meter dash, the Springfield College men's track and field team finished tied for ninth at the New England Division III Championships this afternoon at the Track at New Balance.
Senior
Evan Weber (Purchase, N.Y.) and classmate
Dante Lingley (Westbrook, Maine) both eclipsed the school record in the 200-meter dash as Weber took second in 21.68 and Lingley finished third in 21.74. Junior
Michael Scott (Shoreview, Minn.) also tied the school record with his time of 21.76 for fourth place. Junior
Anik Dole (Dubai, UAE) rounded out the group in the 200-meter dash with a sixth place finish in 21.96. The previous record holder in the event was Tyler Hansen, who hit the mark in 2020.
Lingley and Weber were also successful in the 60-meter dash with times of 6.91 (fourth place) and 6.96 (sixth place), respectively.
Junior
Joe Wong (Salem, Mass.) finished 13th in the 800-meter run in 1:55.84, graduate student
Adam Mula (West Townsend, Mass.) finished 17th in the 600-meter run in 1:24.30 and senior
Sam Polley (Feeding Hills, Mass.) finished 22nd in the 400-meter dash in 51.08.

Colin Hansen (Ipswich, Mass.) finished 14th in the 4x400-meter relay in 3:26.78.
Sophomore
Jamil Manu (Manchester, Conn.) led the way for Springfield in the field events as he placed 14th in the high jump with a best leap of 1.87-meters (6 feet, 1.5 inches) and 18th in the long jump with a best mark of 6.03-meters (19 feet, 9.5 inches).
Next weekend, Springfield will compete at the AARTFC Championships on the campus of Nazareth University and the All-New England Championships back at the Track at New Balance.
