Rochester, N.Y. – March 2, 2024 – For the third time this year, Springfield College first-year
Katherine DeFosse (Worcester, Mass.) broke the school record in the 60-meter hurdles as she led the Pride at the 2024 AARTFC Indoor Championships this weekend.
DeFosse broke the school record during the prelims of the 60-meter hurdles as she clocked a time of 8.98-seconds. She matched that time on Saturday afternoon during finals and finished seventh closing a very successful indoor campaign for the rookie. Senior
Sam Stallard (Waldwick, N.J.) finished 22nd overall in the event in 9.73-seconds.
Junior
Samantha Paul (Albany, N.Y.) earned a third place finish in the triple jump with a season-best leap of 11.62-meters (38 feet, 1.5 inches).
DeFosse, senior
Stephanie Brown (Stafford Springs, Conn.) and sophomore
Kaitlyn Doherty (Wilmington, Mass.) all competed in the 60-meter dash to round out the indoor season. Doherty finished 11th in 7.97-seconds, Brown took 15th in 8.07-seconds and DeFosse finished 21st in 8.19-seconds.
Springfield College will open the outdoor season on March 30 at the Corsair Classic on the campus of UMass Dartmouth.
