South Hadley, Mass. – May 4, 2024 – The Springfield College women's track and field team finished in 28th place with nine points at the 2024 New England Division III Outdoor Regional Championships today on the campus of Mount Holyoke College.
Samantha Paul (Albany, N.Y.) had the best individual finish on the day for the Pride as she took fourth in the triple jump with a best leap of 11.51-meters (37 feet, 9.25 inches).
Katelynn Taylor (Franklin, Mass.) took seventh in the shot put with a best mark of 11.92-meters (39 feet, 1.25 inches),
while Kate Bonanno (Ellington, Conn.) crossed the line seventh in the 10,000-meter run in 38:15.37. Taylor also produced a 20th place finish in the discus (30.55-meters, 100 feet-2 inches).
The 4x400-meter relay of
Mackenzie DiDonato (Thomaston, Conn.),
Julia Brillo (Ludlow, Mass.),
Maeve D'Arcy (West Hartford, Conn.) and
Maggie Donahue (East Hampton, Mass.) finished in ninth place with a time of 4:09.52.
Gwen Andersen (Pawcatuck, Conn.) finished 26th in the 200-meter dash in 26.49,
Maddie Shea (Amherst, Mass.) took 19th in the 5,000-meter run in 18:50.02,
Jillian Scott (Westhampton, Mass.) and
Ella Smith (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) placed 14th and 16th, respectively, in the pole vault as Scott cleared 3.23-meters (10 feet, 7 inches) and Smith cleared 3.08-meters (10 feet, 1.25 inches).
Springfield will head to Williams College for the Farley Inter-Regional next weekend.
