Springfield, Mass. – January 25, 2025 – The Springfield College men's gymnastics team finished third overall in a tri-meet hosted in Blake Arena on Saturday afternoon against the University of Michigan and Army West Point.
Michigan won the meet with a team score of 318.050, Army finished second with a score of 307.050 and Springfield took third with 299.550 points.
Individually,
Owen Carney (Sterling, Mass.) posted a third place finish on the vault with a score of 13.700, while
Blaise Rousseau (Brecksville, Ohio) finished third on the still rings with a score of 13.450. Carney also placed fourth on the high bar (13.250) and seventh on the floor (12.700), while Rousseau took 12th on the parallel bars (10.450).
As a team, Springfield's best event came on the vault powered by Carney's 13.700 as the Pride produced a score of 54.250 on the fourth rotation of the day.
Will Wilson (Montgomery, Ala.) tallied a 13.650,
Evan Reichert (Oswego, Ill.) notched a 13.500 and
Kaleb Palacio (Barcliff, Texas) scored a 13.400.
On the floor,
Kojiro Motoki (Paramus, N.J.) posted Springfield's top score of the day with a 13.200 with Palacio right behind him with a 12.950, while
Devon Felsenstein (Blue Bell, Pa.) paced Springfield on the pommel horse with a 12.900.
Felix Kriedemann (Strasslach, Germany) was Springfield's top finisher on the parallel bars with a 12.300, while Motoki posted the top mark on the high bar with a 12.250.
Springfield will travel to Illinois for a dual with Greenville beginning at 1:00 pm.
