Providence, RI – January 26, 2025 – The Springfield College women's gymnastics team finished third overall in tri-meet held at Brown University on Sunday afternoon.
The host Bears won the meet with a score of 192.550, Southern Connecticut State finished second with a score of 189.275 and Springfield took third with a score of 183.875.
Sage Kaplan (Auburn, Mass.) won the all around competition with a final score of 36.925 with her best event coming on the floor exercise (9.525). Kaplan also produced marks of 9.500 on the vault, 9.000 on the beam and 8.900 on the uneven bars.
Stacy Taylor (Biddeford, Maine) finished sixth overall as Springfield's top finisher on the vault with a score of 9.575 and tenth overall as Springfield's top finisher on the floor with a score of 9.650.
Reagan Charlton (Bentonville, Ark.) was Springfield's top finisher on the beam in tenth overall with a mark of 9.450 with
Maya Belog (Sturbridge, Mass.) and
Paige Rossi (Coram, N.Y.) right behind Charlton in 12th with a score 9.250.
On the uneven bars, Kaplan paced the Pride with
Ayako Maeda (Tokyo, Japan) following in 13th with a score of 8.825.
Brianna Cassin (Granby, Conn.) and
Claire Geiger (Independence, Ky.) rounded out the highlights for Springfield on the floor with scores of 9.600 and 9.525, respectively, to finish in the top-15 in the event.
Springfield will host its first home meet of the year next Sunday, February 2 as a quad meet featuring Ithaca College, Ursinus College and Rhode Island College at 1:00 pm in Blake Arena.
