Springfield, Mass. – March 30, 2026 – Former Springfield College women's gymnastics standout student-athlete
Marissa DeAngelo '17 was recently inducted into the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) Hall of Fame for her efforts while on Alden Street.
DeAngelo was a seven-time NCGA All-American at Springfield College during her time on the women's gymnastics team. DeAngelo earned All-America accolades in the All-Around and the vault in 2015, 2016 and 2017 and the balance beam in 2016. In 2016, DeAngelo was also recognized as the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches / Women (NACGC/W) Division III East Region Gymnast of the Year and became the first in program history to win NCGA East Gymnast of the Year honors that same season.
DeAngelo ended her career as one of the most decorated student-athletes in program history as her seven All-America honors are the second-most ever by a single student-athlete. Patti Corrigan '72 earned 13 All-America awards, while DeAngelo and Debbie Dunkley '75 rank second with seven honors in their four seasons at Springfield.
At the 2017 NCGA National Championships, DeAngelo took third place in the All-Around with a 37.450 and produced a score of 9.600 on the vault for eighth place overall in the event. In 2016, DeAngelo broke a pair of school records en route to an eighth place finish in the all-around competition as at the time her mark of 38.275 snapped a nine-year record, while her score of 9.725 on the vault broke a 19-year old school record that had been set in 1997. DeAngelo's nationals qualifying score in the all-around ranked third nationally heading into the NCGA meet.
On the final day of the 2016 NCGA Championships, DeAngelo produced a score of 9.725 to not only tie her school record mark but tie her for fifth place overall. She also notched a 9.575 on the beam, good enough for 11th place on the national stage.
In 2015, DeAngelo garnered her first career All-America accolade when she placed ninth in the all-around at the NCGA Championships with a score of 37.350.
