Providence, RI – February 14, 2026 – The Springfield College women's gymnastics team was defeated by Rhode Island College in a dual meet on Saturday afternoon held inside the Murray Center.
Springfield was defeated by a final score of 190.475 to 182.375 this afternoon.
Stacy Taylor (Biddeford, Maine) was Springfield's top finisher on the vault producing a mark of 9.550, while
Sage Kaplan (Auburn, Mass.) and
Reagan Charlton (Bentonville, Ark.) tied for sixth with a 9.500. Kaplan was also Springfield's top scorer on the uneven bars with an 8.950 and was closely followed by
Liz Lehan (Norton, Mass.) with an 8.725 and
Sydney Bendick (Shirley, N.Y.) with an 8.350. Midway through the meet RIC held a 94.200-89.075 advantage in the team scores.
Ava Kelley (Mashpee, Mass.) notched a third place finish on the balance beam with a 9.550, while Charlton and
Emma Skowronek (West Chester, Pa.) tied for eighth with a score of 9.225. Springfield had three of the top seven finishers on the floor led by a mark of 9.700 for Taylor.
Kora Donley (New Orleans, La.) notched a 9.650 for sixth, while
Elsie Gardiner (Tucson, Ariz.) posted a 9.625 for seventh.
Springfield will travel to Cortland next weekend for a quad meet with the host Red Dragos, Ithaca College and Utica University on Saturday at 1:00 pm in its penultimate regular season meet of the 2026 campaign.
