Springfield, Mass. - October 14, 2025 - The Springfield College men's soccer team lost to nationally-ranked No. 12 Wesleyan (Conn.) this evening, 2-0.
The Cardinals improve to 8-2-2 while the Pride drop to 6-7-0. Wesleyan entered tonight's contest third in the initial NCAA Power Index (NPI) rankings, which are used to make at-large selections for the 2025 NCAA Division III men's soccer tournament.
Wesleyan's first goal came in the 19th minute when Riley Harvey shot the ball and scored off of a corner.
They scored their second goal about twelve minutes into the second half after
Noah Pote (Washington, Conn.) made a diving save and Yousuf Saeed was able to score on the rebound.
The Cardinals held a 16-10 edge in shots and led 10-3 on corner kicks. Pote had six saves in the loss.
Springfield returns to NEWMAC play on Saturday at 7:00 pm against WPI.
