Franklin, Mass. – October 29, 2025 – The Springfield College field hockey picked up a 2-0 shutout victory over Dean College on the road this afternoon wrapping up its non-conference slate for the fall.
Springfield earned its 11th win of the fall – the most victories for the program since the Pride matched that total in 2019. Springfield, now 11-6, turns its attention to its regular season finale on Saturday as the Pride will host Clark for senior day at 12:00 pm on Stagg Field.
After a scoreless first quarter,
Ava Coppola (Southington, Conn.) recorded the game's first goal as she tucked the ball into the back of the cage off a short pass from
Clare Moore (New Preston, Conn.). Coppola's goal was her third of the fall, while Moore's assist was her fifth of the season.
An unassisted strike by
Amber Wolkner (Farmington, Conn.) late in the third doubled Springfield's lead to 2-0 with her second tally of the campaign. Dean put a pair of shots on goal in the fourth quarter looking to break the shutout, but Springfield keeper
Sam Orcutt (Forestdale, Mass.) stopped both attempts ultimately ending the contest with a trio of saves.
As a team, Springfield held a 16-6 differential in shots and an 8-3 margin in penalty corners this afternoon at Dean.
