Worcester, Mass. – October 7, 2025 – The Springfield College men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 non-conference decision at Worcester State University on Tuesday night.
Both teams records moved to 5-6 after tonight's result with the host Lancers winning three of their last four matchups. Despite the result, Springfield out shot Worcester State by a 17-9 margin, while both teams attempted four corner kicks apiece.
After a scoreless first half, the Lancers scored in the 54th minute when Brady Iovanni connected with SJ Aquino following a corner kick. Then in the 80th minute, Worcester State found an insurance goal as Cody Gass fed the ball to Ciledson Segundo to make it 2-0. Springfield attempted to find the back of the net late in the match, but all three of its shots sailed wide.
Zach Nelson made seven saves for Worcester State, while
Noah Pote (Washington, Conn.) made a trio of stops for the Pride.
Springfield will host Salve Regina University on Saturday at 1:00 pm for its Senior Day match on Brock-Affleck Field.
