Women's Cross Country

Kyle Leads Women's Cross Country to Historic Effort at NEWMAC Championships

Attleboro, Mass. – November 1, 2025 – Highlighted by an All-Conference finish by Kristina Kyle (Watertown, Conn.), the Springfield College women's cross country team finished fifth at the 2025 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championships on Saturday afternoon at Highland Park.

Kyle and the Pride produced its best team finish since 2011 matching that squad's fifth place finish today as Springfield recorded 165 points in the field of 11 teams. MIT won the meet with 24 points and was followed by Coast Guard (66), Wellesley (112) and Smith (141).

Kyle also made individual history this afternoon as she became the first NEWMAC Rookie of the Year for the Springfield women's cross country since 2000 when Marissa Clapp earned the honor. Today, Kyle was also the first All-Conference runner for the Pride since 2014 when Gabriella Gaudreault finished eighth at the conference championships. At today's NEWMAC meet, Kyle registered a 14th place finish in 22:53.8 to lead the Pride at Highland Park.

Following Kyle was Kami Wlodyka (Three Rivers, Mass.) in 33rd in 24:16.6, Sara St. Germain (Somers, Conn.) in 49th in 24:52.5, Kayleigh Jensen (Salem, Conn.) in 50th in 24:53.5 and Meghan Sullivan (Easthampton, Mass.) in 62nd in 25:20.9 rounding out the top five for Springfield.

Leah Castle (Ashford, Conn.)Hannah McCarthy (Beverly, Mass.) and Elisa Narain (Holden, Mass.) all finished within the top-100 with times of 25:32.1, 25:34.2 and 25:56.8, respectively. Lauren Roche (Corning, N.Y.) produced a time of 27:40.6, Meghan Conway (Nashua, N.H.) clocked a 27:46.1, Taylor Desmarais (Berlin, Conn.) posted a 27:56.1 and Brooke Ferrare (Waterbury, Conn.) crossed the line in 29:04.3 to round out today's highlights.

Springfield will have next weekend off before heading to St. Lawrence University for the 2025 NCAA Division III Mideast Regional Championships on November 15.
