Norton, Mass. - November 1, 2025 - The Springfield College men's soccer team finished the regular season with a loss to New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) opponent Wheaton (Mass.), 5-0, this afternoon. The Lyons are nationally-ranked No. 8 and are No. 12 in the most recent NCAA Power Index rankings.
The Lyons finish their season undefeated at 14-0-4 and 7-0-1 in conference play while the Pride drop to 7-9-1, 3-4-1.
Noah Pote (Washington, Conn.) had a career-high 11 saves in the loss.
Wheaton dominated the first half, scoring four goals within the first 27 minutes of the match. The first goal of the game in the 11th minute and the Lyons just continued to put pressure on the Pride.
In the 56th minute, Wheaton added another goal for its 5-0 win.
Springfield had little chances to score against the top ranked Lyons, getting only four shots off and not having any corner kicks. Wheaton had 29 shots and eight corner kicks.
The Pride will play in the first round of the NEWMAC Tournament on Tuesday, November 4.
