Springfield, Mass. – February 16, 2025 – The Springfield College men's gymnastics team produced a season-high score of 307.200 despite falling in a dual meet to William & Mary on Sunday afternoon in Dana Gymnasium.
Coming into today's meet Springfield and William & Mary ranked 12th and 13th nationally with three score averages of 302.200 and 301.950, respectively, with the top-12 teams qualifying for the NCAA National Collegiate Championships.
Springfield's best event of the day came on the pommel horse as
Devon Felsenstein (Blue Bell, Pa.) and
Gio Mantia (Aurora, Ill.) finished first and second with scores of 13.250 and 13.200, respectively. As a team, Springfield edged William & Mary in the event, 51.450-49.850.
The Pride also beat William & Mary on the parallel bars as
Kaleb Palacio (Barcliff, Texas) won the event with a 13.200. Palacio's score counted towards his all around mark of 76.600, which saw him produce marks of 13.800 on the floor, 13.000 on the high bar, 12.900 on the vault, 12.500 on the rings and 11.200 on the pommel horse.
Palacio was Springfield's top finisher on the floor, high bar and parallel bar.
Will Wilson (Montgomery, Ala.) registered Springfield's top mark on the vault placing second with a 14.000 and the rings placing fifth with a 12.700.
Evan Reichert (Oswego, Ill.) earned a third place finish on the vault with a 13.850 rounding out today's highlights.
Springfield will travel to Navy for a dual meet on March 1 at 2:00 pm.
