Annapolis, Md. – March 1, 2025 – Sophomore
Kaleb Palacio (Barcliff, Texas) won two events and finished in the top three in four different events for the Springfield College men's gymnastics team in a dual against the US Naval Academy on Saturday afternoon.
Springfield was ultimately upended by the Midshipmen by a score of 311.050-309.350.
The Pride took three of the top four spots on the vault paced by Palacio's 14.300.
Will Wilson (Montgomery, Ala.) registered a runner-up finish with a 14.200, while
Owen Carney (Sterling, Mass.) took fourth with a 13.900.
Springfield also took four of the top-five spots on the high bar paced by
Felix Kriedemann's (Strasslach, Germany) 13.350. Palacio finished third with a 12.950, Wilson took fourth with a 12.800 and
Jaden Laubstein (Oakland, Calif.) finished fifth with a 12.650. The Pride also took four of the top-five spots on the pommel horse as
Devon Felsenstein (Blue Bell, Pa.) tied for first with a 13.300 and was followed by Kriedemann (13.250), Palacio (12.900) and
Gio Mantia (Aurora, Ill.) (12.650).
Blaise Rousseau (Brecksville, Ohio) registered a 13.100 to tie for second on the still rings, while Wilson finished fourth with a 13.000. Palacio led Springfield on the floor with a 13.300, while
Evan Reichert (Oswego, Ill.) took fourth with a 13.200.
Palacio, the lone competitor in the all around recorded a 77.700 across the six events this afternoon for Springfield.
Springfield will host Simpson College on Sunday, March 16 in its final dual meet of the season beginning at 1:00 pm in Blake Arena.
