Champaign, Ill. - April 17, 2026 - Five student-athletes on the Springfield College men's gymnastics team qualified for the finals session of the 2026 NCAA Men's Gymnastics Championships which marks the most gymnasts to qualify for the finals in program history.
The Pride qualified for the championships as a team for the fourth time in program history and fourth time in the past five seasons as Springfield earned a bid after finishing the regular season 12th with a national qualifying average of 308.500.
Oklahoma won the session with a score of 322.825 and was followed by Ohio State (320.294), Nebraska (320.294), Nebraska (320.059), California (312.026), Greenville (3017.059) and Springfield (306.426).
These five student-athletes will advance to the following finals tomorrow: Owen Carney (Sterling, Mass.) on the high bar, Peyton Cramer (Grapevine, Texas) on the pommel horse, Michael Dalton (Downers Grove, Ill.) on the vault, Blaise Rousseau (Brecksville, Ohio) on the stills rings and Jacob Soederqvist (Stockholm, Sweden) will round things out competing in the all-around.
In Session I of the championship qualifier, Rousseau finished third on the still rings with a 13.900 and also led Springfield on the parallel bars with a 12.800. Gustavin Suess (Portland, Ore.) finished with a 12.533 on the still rings as Brian Delf (Delta, British Columbia) was right behind Rousseau in the parallel bars with a 12.766 and Skyler Cook (Copperas Cove, Texas) scored a 12.566.
Dalton led the Pride on the vault with a 13.566 as Kaleb Palacio (Bacliff, Texas) and Carney followed with a 13.533 and a 13.433, respectively. Cramer came in third in the pommel horse with a 13.900 as Devon Felsenstein (Blue Bell, Pa.) scored a 13.200.
Carney led the Pride in both the high bar and floor as he finished ninth on the high bar with a 13.200 and tenth on the floor with a 13.300. Cook finished with a 12.566 on the high bar and Evan Reichert (Oswego, Ill.) scored a 13.166 on the floor. Soederqvist finished third in the all-around with a score of 73.266.
Carney, Cramer, Dalton, Rousseau and Soederqvist will all compete in the finals session tomorrow at 7:00 pm EST in Illinois.
