Boston, Mass. – March 1, 2025 – The Springfield College women's track and field team finished 15th overall as a team at the 2025 New England Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships held at the Track at New Balance this weekend.
Katherine DeFosse (Worcester, Mass.) registered a runner-up finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.87 to pace Springfield on the track today. She notched a school record time of 8.79 in yesterday's prelim heat.
Elina Olmedo (Wakefield, Mass.) took 11th in the 800-meter run (2:21.19),
Kristina Kyle (Watertown, Conn.) finished 16th in the mile (5:12.44) and
Maddie Shea (Amherst, Mass.) took 22nd in the 3,000-meter run (10:34.70) to round out the individual highlights on the track today.
Madison Mulas (Wilmington, Mass.),
Natalia Marchand (Hubbardston, Mass.), Olmedo and
Julia Brillo (Ludlow, Mass.) combined for a 4:10.77 for 13th place in the 4x400-meter relay.
Katelynn Taylor (Franklin, Mass.) had the best finish for Springfield in the field events as she finished tenth in the weight throw with a toss of 14.56-meters. Taylor was followed by
Hannah Debian (West Springfield, Mass.) in 19th (13.14-meters).
Autumn Bacik (Watertown, Conn.) finished 11th in the high jump clearing 1.54-meters, while
Samantha Paul (Albany, N.Y.) posted a best leap of 10.84-meters for 12th in the triple jump.
Select student-athletes who have qualified will compete in next weekend's AARTFC Indoor Championships at Ithaca College.
