Springfield, Mass. – March 16, 2025 – The Springfield College men's gymnastics team defeated Simpson College, 305.800-292.450, on Sunday afternoon in Blake Arena to wrap up its regular season.
Owen Carney (Sterling, Mass.) led the charge for Springfield as he won the floor exercise with a score of 13.600 and the high bar with a score of 12.800. As a team, Springfield swept the top five spots on the floor as behind Carney was
Evan Reichert (Oswego, Ill.) and
Kaleb Palacio (Barcliff, Texas) with 13.200's,
Will Wilson (Montgomery, Ala.) with a 13.100 and
Matt Browne (Decatur, Ga.) with a 12.800.
Behind Carney on the high bar was
Felix Kriedemann (Strasslach, Germany) in second with a 12.600, Wilson in fourth with a 12.300 and Palacio in fifth with a 12.150.
Devon Felsenstein (Blue Bell, Pa.) paced Springfield on the pommel horse with a first place score of 13.450, while
Gio Mantia (Aurora, Ill.) took second with a 13.150. On the still rings, Browne turned in a first place score of 12.600, while Wilson and
Blaise Rousseau (Brecksville, Ohio) tied for third with a 12.450.
Palacio finished as the runner-up on the vault with a 14.250, while Rousseau finished as the runner-up on the parallel bars with a 12.650.
Springfield will travel to Navy for the USAG Championships on Friday and Saturday, March 28-29.
