Ithaca, N.Y. – March 8, 2025 – Samantha Paul (Albany, N.Y.) and
Katherine DeFosse (Worcester, Mass.)led the Springfield College women's track and field team at this weekend's AARTFC Indoor Championships held at Ithaca College.
As a team, Springfield finished 12th overall with 18 points.
Paul individually won the triple jump with a best mark of 11.86-meters, which places her 17th in Division III as of 8pm on Saturday evening. With meets still in progress, Paul will await word of a bid to the NCAA Division III National Championships as the top-20 in each event will qualify.
DeFosse, meanwhile, cemented her spot on the national stage in the 60-meter hurdles as she once again broke her own program record and finished third with a time of 8.70-seconds, which ranks seventh nationally.
In the pole vault,
Autumn Bacik (Watertown, Conn.) and
Jillian Scott (Westhampton, Mass.) both cleared 3.32-meters to tie for tenth overall, while Bacik took ninth in the high jump clearing 1.57-meters.
Katelynn Taylor (Franklin, Mass.) registered a seventh place finish in the shot put (12.30-meters) and a 24th place finish in the weight throw (14.03-meters), while
Hannah Debian (West Springfield, Mass.) took 20th in the shot put (11.32-meters).
Springfield now awaits word of national qualifiers for next weekend's NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field National Championships.
