Football Releases 2025 Schedule

Springfield, Mass. – May 27, 2025 – The Springfield College football team and head coach Mike Cerasuolo has officially announced the program's 2025 schedule which features tough competition from both in and out of the New England region.

Springfield will open the season with the 12th annual Pynchon SAW Game, which is derived from city founder William Pynchon and the acronym of "SAW" for the first initial of both schools, Springfield And Western New England on September 6 at 1:00 pm. Springfield is 6-5 all-time against the Golden Bears, but has won the previous three matchups between the two sides.

The Pride will open its home slate against Husson University at 12:00 pm on September 13 before hitting the road for a test at nationally-ranked No. 16 Wisconsin-Platteville on September 20 and the program's New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) opener at MIT on September 27. Springfield's first home NEWMAC contest, which is also Friends & Family Weekend on Alden Street, is slated for October 4 against Salve Regina University. 

The second half of the 2025 schedule features a trio of home games including Homecoming on October 25 against Merchant Marine, on November 11 against Coast Guard and on November 15 against SUNY Maritime for Senior Day. The Pride will also travel to WPI on October 18 and to Norwich on November 1. The final four contests of the year for the Pride are set to kick off at 12:00 pm.

Springfield is coming off a historic 2024 campaign that saw the Pride go 12-1 and reach the NCAA National Quarterfinals for the first time in 24 seasons. Springfield also won its fourth consecutive NEWMAC Championship title under the direction of AP Division III National Coach of the Year and Walter Camp Division III Coach of the Year, Mike Cerasuolo.
