Kursten Shade has officially announced the program's 2025 schedule which is slated to get underway on August 31 on the road at Stevens Institute of Technology.
FULL SCHEDULE
The Pride will play a 17-game schedule that includes 11 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) contests and six non-conference games against teams from across the New England region. Three of Springfield's opponents reached the NCAA Tournament last fall including Amherst College, MIT and Wesleyan University which ended the year ranked sixth, 12th and 21st nationally, respectfully, in the United Soccer Coaches poll.
A season ago, Springfield produced ten wins including six victories in conference play, earned the second seed in the NEWMAC Tournament and finished as the runner-up in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship Tournament.
After back-to-back road games at Stevens and Western New England to open the 2025 slate, Springfield will welcome the University of Hartford to Alden Street for a rematch of the 2024 ECAC title game before heading back on the road to face No. 21 Wesleyan. Three straight home games in mid-September will see the Pride host Framingham State, No. 6 Amherst and Babson to open NEWMAC play on the 20th before Springfield wraps up the first month of the year at Smith on the 27th.
Springfield will play five of its final nine conference games away from home in October opening the month at Salve Regina on the fourth before returning home to host Coast Guard in a midweek tilt. The Pride will travel to No. 12 MIT on October 11 and then have a NEWMAC quarterfinal rematch back in Western Massachusetts with WPI on October 18. Springfield will wrap up the regular season at home against Emerson and Clark prior to the conference tournament beginning on November 4.
The NEWMAC Tournament will begin on Tuesday, November 4 and a champion will be crowned on Saturday, November 8. The higher seeded team will be named the host in each round and the winner of the NEWMAC title will earn the league's automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament.
