Springfield, Mass. - September 27, 2025 - The Springfield College men's soccer team was defeated by New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) opponent Babson on Saturday afternoon, 3-1.
The Pride drop to 5-4 overall and 1-1 in the conference while Babson improves to 5-3-2 overall and 1-0 in the NEWMAC.
Babson got on the board first when an own goal was scored off of a corner kick. About twenty minutes later, Babson followed up with another goal when Huey Miller had his initial shot blocked and then scored off of the rebound.
In the 40th minute,
Luke Afonso (Ludlow, Mass.) kicked a long ball to the right side of the box to
Talan Bradley (South Kingstown, RI). Bradley then controlled the ball and passed it to
Gianni Pazvakavambwa (Franklin, Mass.) who was in front of the goal and able to put it away, putting the Pride within one.
The Beavers scored their final goal of the game when Will Lloyd shot the ball from the top of the box and buried it in the back of the net with about ten minutes left.
Noah Pote (Washington, Conn.) had five saves in the loss as Babson outshot Springfield 15-12 and had a 6-4 edge on corner kicks.
The Pride travel to MIT on October 4 for a 1:00 pm matchup.
