Marlborough, Mass. - January 12, 2026 - Springfield College women's basketball junior Claire Finney (Haverhill, Mass.) has been named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week following impressive performances against two ranked opponents. 

Finney powered Springfield to a 70-66 win over No. 19/22 Amherst College on Tuesday as she poured in a career-high 23 points, shot 9-for-15 from the floor, and added four rebounds as the Pride defeated the Mammoths in Blake Arena for the first time since 2006. Finney then added 14 points and five steals in a close contest with No. 3 Smith on Saturday.

The Pride will travel to Babson on Saturday, January 17 for a 1:00 pm tip off.
