Men's Gymnastics Finishes Fourth at the West Point Open; Three to Compete in Saturday's Finals

West Point, N.Y. - January 16, 2026 - On the first day of the West Point Open, the Springfield College men's gymnastics team finished fourth overall against some of the top competition in the country with three gymnasts advancing to compete in three events in tomorrow's finals. 

Springfield tied its best team finish over the past ten seasons at the West Point Open as the Pride previously took fourth in 2016, 2022, 2024 and now 2026.
 
Penn State won the meet with 313.500 points and was followed by Army (306.650), Navy (302.550), Springfield (301.000), Williams & Mary (294.600), and Simpson (294.300). 
 
Kaleb Palacio (Barcliff, Texas) will compete in the vault finals, Evan Reichert (Oswego, Ill.) will compete in the floor finals and Devon Felsenstein (Blue Bell, Pa.) will compete in the pommel horse finals tomorrow evening at Army.
 
Felsenstein continued to impress on the pommel horse as he placed second with 14.000 and grabbed a mark of 12.600 for 14th on the parallel bars. Palacio's vault score of 13.950 placed him sixth overall and went on to produce a score of 12.750 for tenth on the high bar and a score of 12.800 for 18th on the floor, while Reichert notched a 13.500 on the vault, a 13.150 on the floor and a 12.650 on the pommel horse.

Michael Dalton (Downers Grove, Ill.) and Jacob Soederqvist (Stockholm, Sweden) tied for 13th with a mark of 13.000 on the floor, while Peyton Cramer (Grapevine, Texas) followed Felsenstein on the pommel horse with a tenth place score of 13.00. Gustavin Suess (Portland, Ore.) led the charge on the still rings with a 12.400 and was closely followed by Will Wilson (Montgomery, Ala.) with a 12.200 to round out tonight's highlights. 

Springfield will see its three student-athletes compete in the individual finals tomorrow at 7:00 pm on the campus of Army to conclude the 2026 West Point Open.
