Springfield, Mass. – January 16, 2026 – Ahead of tomorrow's New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) opener at Babson College, Springfield College women's basketball junior Claire Finney (Haverhill, Mass.) was named to the NEWBA Honor Roll First Team for her performance last week.

Finney, who also took home NEWMAC Offensive Athlete of the Week honors, powered Springfield to a 70-66 win over No. 19/22 Amherst College on Tuesday as she poured in a career-high 23 points, shot 9-for-15 from the floor, and added four rebounds as the Pride defeated the Mammoths in Blake Arena for the first time since 2006. Finney then added 14 points and five steals in a close contest with No. 3 Smith on Saturday.

Springfield is set to travel to Babson tomorrow for a NEWMAC clash at 1:00 pm.
