Brady Soldo (Shrewsbury, Mass.) and junior
Jake Degnan (Mahopac, N.Y.) have garnered Preseason All-America honors from InsideLacrosse.com.
Degnan picked up his second Preseason All-America award after earning a spot on the USA Lacrosse Magazine Honorable Mention Team. A season ago, the junior was a United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-American and New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Athlete of the Year and returns for his third year on Alden Street. In 2025, Degnan produced 40 goals and 15 assists for 55 points for the leading Springfield in both goals and points.
Soldo, a NEWMAC First Team All-Conference selection in 2025, produced 17 goals and 12 assists for a career-high 29 points a season ago and will look to cap his career in style this spring. Over his career – a span of 47 contests, Soldo has registered a total of 39 goals and 27 assists for 66 points in addition to having 34 total ground balls and a trio of caused turnovers.
In 2025, Degnan, Soldo and the entire Springfield College men's lacrosse team completed a undefeated schedule in the conference for the first time since 2016 and hosted the NEWMAC title game on Stagg Field against Babson.
Springfield, under the direction of first-year head coach Sean Quirk, will open its 2026 slate on February 21 at No. 9 Stevens Institute of Technology before returning to Alden Street for its home opener on February 26 against Union College.
