Springfield, Mass. - April 7, 2026 - The Springfield College softball team defeated Keene State on Tuesday afternoon in a single game on Potter Field, 3-0. 

The Pride improve to 14-5 while the Owls drop to 9-7. 

Amelia DeRosa (Miller Place, N.Y.) went 2-for-3 with a run scored and also got the win in the circle after pitching five innings with no runs scored and four strikeouts. Julia Rimshnick (Staten Island, N.Y.) closed out the game to earn the save while striking out two.

Both teams were scoreless through three innings despite having runners in scoring position in all but the bottom of the first before the Pride rallied to score three in the bottom of the fourth. Brynlee Eckles (Ellington, Conn.) beat out a throw to home on a ground ball from Taylor Falotico (Windsor, Conn.) to put the Pride on the board. Falotico then scored on a wild pitch before Reilly Hunter (Wallingford, Conn.) hit a triple down the right field line which brought in DeRosa to take a 3-0 lead. 

Between DeRosa and Rimshnick, Keene State did not have another runner reach base safely in the final three innings of play as Springfield took the win, 3-0. 

Springfield will head to MIT on Friday for a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) doubleheader at 3:00 pm.
