Springfield, Mass. - September 26, 2026 - At the 2026 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Golf Championship, the Springfield College men's golf team finished third as Matthew Kumpulanian (Wilbraham, Mass.) won the individual title.

Springfield entered the second round in third place after shooting a 318 (+30) on Friday and then followed with a day two score of 313 (+25), carding a two-day team score of 631 (+55) to finish third overall. Marymount captured the team championship with a 607 (+31) while Salem State finished second with a 615 (+39). Kean placed fourth with a 644 (+68) and was followed by Westfield State with a 661 (+85), MCLA 682 (+106) and Worcester State with a 689 (+113).

Kumpulanian led Springfield with an outstanding performance to tie for first individually where it had to be broken over a playoff following the 36 holes which is won to claim the individual title. Kumpulanian opened the championship with an even-par 72 before carding a 73 (+1) in the second round to tie with Daniel Kwon of Marymount who Kumpulanian ultimately beat out in the playoff hole. Both student-athletes birdied the first two holes before Kwon double bogied the third while Kumpulanian had just a bogey to earn the MASCAC Individual Champion title. 

Amir Ardolino (Wilbraham, Mass.) tied for 13th as he shot an 81 (+9) in each round while Sean O'Neill (East Longmeadow, Mass.) recorded a day two scored of 82 (+10) to tie for 20th. Nolan Kelly (East Longmeadow, Mass.) registered a day two score of 85 (+13) to tie for 22nd as Ryan Wood (Foxborough, Mass.) tied for 24th, registering a day two score of 77 (+5) to better his day one score by 14 strokes.

The Pride will head to the RPI Invitational at the Shaker Ridge Country Club on Monday, October 5.
