Troy, N.Y. – October 5, 2026 – The Springfield College men's golf team finished 15th overall at the 2026 RPI Invitational held at Shaker Ridge Golf Club on Monday afternoon.
As a team, Springfield produced a score of 427 (+53) and was led by senior Matthew Kumpulanian (Wilbraham, Mass.), who individually finished tied for 16th. Skidmore won the meet with a score of 309 (+25) and was followed by RPI, NYU, St. Lawrence and Farmingdale State to round out the top five.
Kumpalanian tallied a score of 79 (+8) with a birdie and nine par's. Sean O'Neill (East Longmeadow, Mass.) finished five strokes behind Kumpulanian for 55th in the field as he notched a birdie on hole fourteen.
Nolan Kelly (East Longmeadow, Mass.) finished 66th with a score of 86 (+15) and registered four pars across 18 holes, while Ryan Wood (Foxborough, Mass.) finished 75th with a 88 (+17). Shane DeFilipi (Agawam, Mass.) rounded out the scores for Springfield with a 90 (+19) for 83rd overall.
Springfield will travel back to New York on Saturday for the Skidmore Fall Invitational at Saratoga Spa Golf Course.
