Springfield College

Babson Park, Mass. — September 26, 2026 — The Springfield College men's soccer team lost to New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) and nationally-ranked No. 5 Babson on Saturday afternoon 1-0. 

Babson improves to 6-0-1 overall and opens conference play at 1-0-0 while Springfield drops to 2-5-1, 1-1-0. 

The Pride played a competitive match against the nationally-ranked Beavers as the teams played to a draw in the first half before the Beavers broke open the scoring just over ten minutes into the second half. Luca Tusche sent the ball into the box for Will Lloyd to head into the back of the net for what would eventually be the game-winner. 

Tommy Fenton (East Hampton, Conn.) had six saves in the loss. Babson outshot Springfield 20-9 while the Pride held a 6-5 edge in corner kicks. 

Springfield will host nonconference opponent Worcester State at 7:00 pm on Brock-Affleck Field.
