Wellesley, Mass. – November 7, 2009 – Courtney Price tallied the lone goal of the contest in the 52nd minute off a free kick as the Springfield College women’s soccer team defeated rival Wellesley, 1-0, in the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Tournament Semifinals.
The Pride will now play on Sunday against MIT at 1 pm for the league championship and the automatic berth to the NCAA Championship Tournament. That game will be played at Wellesley. Springfield is the defending conference champion as it defeated Wheaton, 2-1, in overtime last year.

PriceÂ's goal came just six minutes into the second half on a long free kick. This proved to be the game winner as a strong Springfield defense held off the Wellesley attack.ÂÂ
