Orlando, Fla. – March 17, 2011 – Allie Davis found the back of the cage with just 3.5 seconds left in regulation to lead the Springfield College women’s lacrosse team to a thrilling 14-13 win over Claremont Mudd-Scripps on Thursday morning.
Springfield now improves to 2-1 on the season and rebounded nicely after a tough loss on Wednesday. In that contest, 20th-ranked Stevenson scored the game-winner with three seconds remaining for a 13-12 victory.
Davis was outstanding for Springfield as she poured in six goals in the victory, while Jackie Moscardelli notched two goals and two assists. Brittany LeGuelaff added two goals and Meagan Dobson produced two assists and a goal. Kelly Gallo recorded a goal and an assist, as did Jenna Bugbee.
Springfield will return to New England to take on Keene State on Tuesday evening at 7:00 pm.
