Four From Women's Lacrosse Named to NEWMAC All-Conference Teams

Marlborough, Mass. - May 11, 2026 - Four student-athletes from the Springfield College women's lacrosse team earned All-Conference honors from the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) after a successful 2026 campaign.

The 2026 NEWMAC Women's Lacrosse All-Conference Team consists of a first team and a second team made up of 16 student-athletes on each team as they represent the best student-athletes from across the conference. Springfield had two first team selections and two second team selections.

Izzy Lalancette (Feeding Hills, Mass.) and Lily Johnson (Oceanside, N.Y.) earned the third consecutive honor of their careers. Lalancette was named to the NEWMAC All-Conference First Team and was joined by Eniola Elefontuyi (Niskayuna, N.Y.) while Johnson was named to the Second Team along with teammate Sarah Newton (Colchester, Conn.)

Lalancette led the Pride with a team-high 40 goals while tallying seven assists as the junior notched her 100th career goal in late March. She was second on the team in multiple categories including points (47), ground balls (29) and caused turnovers (19). Elefontuyi was a key piece of the Pride's defense, helping Springfield have the second lowest number of goals scored against them in conference play while she also picked up 23 ground balls and caused 15 turnovers.

Newton was individually ranked 26th in the country and led the conference in draw controls per game with 6.33 as she also led the conference in total draw controls. She won 114 draw controls which marks a new single season program record surpassing the previous record of 113 which was set in 2018 by Shelby Corsano. Springfield as a team ranked 12th in draw control percentage (.631) and 17th in draw controls per game (15.11). Newton also totaled 20 goals and seven assists for 27 points on the season. Johnson scored 28 goals to go along with 18 for 46 points during her senior season while also picking up 16 ground balls and causing 18 turnovers.
