Worcester, Mass. – April 1, 2012 – The visiting Springfield College baseball team rallied for a win in the first game and then powered past host Clark University in game two, sweeping past the Cougars in a key New England WomenÂ's And MenÂ's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) doubleheader on Sunday afternoon at Granger Field.
The Pride won game one, 5-2 in eight innings and then took game two, 12-5 to improve to 10-7 overall and 4-2 in league play, while the Cougars slip to 6-14 and 2-4 in conference action.
In the opener, Clark held a 2-1 lead after the third inning following Mike Lamothe coming up with an RBI single that scored Daniel Lima.

Springfield regained the lead in the fourth on an RBI single from Steve Starr and a two-run base hit by Mike Corletta.
Clark knotted the game in the fifth on a Sullivan RBI double, but the Pride exploded for four runs in the sixth, highlighted by a two-run single by Kyle DiFranco.
Springfield scored three more in the sixth as DiFranco pushed across another run with a single and Corletta provided a two-run double.
