Five From Baseball Earn College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Accolades

Springfield, Mass. – June 17, 2026 – The Springfield College baseball program had five student-athletes honored for their academic and athletic excellence by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) as they were all named to the 2026 CSC Academic All-District Baseball Team.

Michael Lepere (Beacon, N.Y.)Jack Dunaisky (Longmeadow, Mass.) and Nate Kelleher-Mochak (Florence, Mass.) were all repeat honorees, while Tyler Casey (Wallingford, Conn.) and Josh Mayo (Westfield, Mass.) were all selected for the first time. College Sports Communicators recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Lepere, a sport and exercise psychology major with a 3.95 grade point average, wrapped up his career posting a .305 batting average in 2026. In 36 games, Lepere produced 40 hits, four doubles, a triple, four homers and a team-leading 32 RBI. He also stole ten bags this spring and notched at least one hit in 24 different contests. In fact, from March 16 through April 4, Lepere recorded at least one hit – a stretch of 12 straight games. Over that stretch, Lepere went 20-for-47 (.426) and scored 14 runs.

Dunaisky, a sport management major with a 3.88 grade point average, ranked second for the Pride in batting average with a mark of .350 and led Springfield in hits with 50 this year. He also registered eight doubles, a home run and 27 RBI as the everyday shortstop for the Pride. Dunaisky stole 22 bases, scored 34 times and notched a hit in 29 different games this year. The senior also notched three or more hits in seven different contests including a 4-for-6 walk off performance against MIT on May 2.

Kelleher-Mochak, a communications/sports journalism major with a 3.51 grade point average, went 4-4 on the bump for Springfield during his senior season. He tossed 55 innings and produce 52 strikeouts in 11 appearances. Kelleher-Mochak had his best outing of the season on April 25 against WPI as he went eight frames, scattered three hits, allowed one run and struck out five.

Casey, a sport management major with a 3.78 grade point average, led the Pride in batting average hitting at a .363 clip to go along with 49 hits, nine doubles, three triples, two homers and 29 RBI. The junior outfielder also scored 35 runs and stole 21 bases this spring. Casey produced at least one hit in 28 different games and registered a season-best five RBI in a 13-8 win at Western New England on April 8.

Mayo, an exercise science major with a 3.50 grade point average, excelled on the mound going 4-2 with a 3.83 earned run average over 56.1 innings. The junior pitched three complete games including a nine inning showing in a 5-3 comeback win against conference opponent Wheaton College on April 4 and the team's first no-hitter since 2019 against Emerson College on March 29.  He also posted one shutout and struck out 53 batters - the third most strikeouts in the NEWMAC.

In 2026, under first-year head coach Chad Shade '20, Springfield earned a trip to the NEWMAC Tournament for the first time since 2023 following a 23-win season which marked the most wins in a season for the Pride since 2018 and the third most in Division III program history.
